Muhammad Nasir Khan has been teaching at the Department of Computer Science at University of Chitral since October 2017.
Khan has a MS degree in Computer Science from University of Hull, UK and another Masters from COMSATS University, Pakistan.
Before switching to teaching at University of Chitral, Khan has 13 years of professional intensive IT industry experience, which includes experience in managing and leading IT teams, design, development, deployment and maintenance of Information Technology Infrastructures and IS Systems, Web Applications, Database Designs, eLearning systems with a broad exposure to various platforms, frameworks, software systems and specialized IT tools. His interests span a broad number of topics, from cybersecurity to machine learning to IoTs. Mr. Khan particular interest is using Computer Science and ICTs for the social development of disadvantaged group in Chitral. For the sake of this cause, he is also volunteering in a non-profit setup.
Since his employment at University of Chitral, apart from teaching, Khan is serving as Head of Data Mining Research group, coordinator campus LMS and IT Club.
Khan is the recipient of the UK's prestigious academic award, the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship for his MS course in 2012.
